Turkey has launched construction on its inaugural domestically designed submarine, marking a milestone in national naval autonomy. Named MILDEN, the platform is being built at Gölcük Shipyard alongside the TF-2000 destroyer program, both integral to Turkey’s expanding Steel Dome defense framework. The country continues to scale its defense industry, securing billions in new contracts while aligning with global trends of domestic submarine development seen in South Korea, India, and Australia.
