The Royal Netherlands Navy’s future class of submarines will be equipped with high-performance sonar systems provided by Thales under an agreement with Naval Group.They will be used to outfit the Orka-class submarines, which are scheduled to take the place of the current Walrus-class ships.The sonar package improves situational awareness by identifying, locating, and categorizing underwater hazards at a variety of ranges and frequencies.
