Bollinger Shipyards in Florida has delivered the US Coast Guard’s 59th Sentinel-class fast response boat. The milestone corresponds with a 2008 initiative to replace the service’s old patrol boats, such as the Island-class vessels that have been in use since the 1980s. The new platform, designated as the USCGC Earl Cunningham (WPC-1159), will be the second of three Sentinel cutters to be stationed in Kodiak.
