UK defense company Babcock has signed three agreements with Danish firms STORMBORN, CUBEDIN, and SH Group to explore technologies for future naval platforms. The partnerships will examine autonomous systems, standardized interfaces, and naval equipment as Denmark develops fleets combining crewed ships with uncrewed capabilities. Babcock and STORMBORN will investigate integrating autonomous technologies into wider naval programs, with emphasis on interoperability and coordinated operations between crewed and uncrewed platforms. The agreement with CUBEDIN focuses on standardized physical and digital interfaces that could allow mission systems, sensors, and autonomous technologies to be installed or replaced without major modifications to ships. Cooperation with SH Group will cover ship and naval platform systems and could increase Danish industry participation in vessels built for domestic and export markets. The partnerships support the Hybrid Navy concept, which uses crewed warships to coordinate distributed autonomous systems.
