German naval manufacturer thyssenkrupp Marine Systems has signed a partnership agreement with India’s VEM Technologies to jointly produce heavyweight torpedoes in India. The program will initially support the Indian Navy’s submarine fleet and could produce around 500 torpedoes annually. Technology transfer and software licensing will be facilitated by Atlas Elektronik. The collaboration represents a significant step in strengthening India’s domestic defense manufacturing capabilities.
