Slovakia has signed a framework agreement to supply Azerbaijan with 96 SAM-120 self-propelled mortar systems, with options that could expand the order to as many as 300 units. The deal, concluded at the World Defense Show in Riyadh, was signed between state-owned ZŤS Špeciál and Azerbaijan’s Iglin Scientific Production Enterprise. The initial contract is valued at €210 million ($249 million), and production is scheduled to begin immediately. Slovak officials indicated that discussions may include licensing arrangements allowing partial or full production of the system in Azerbaijan. The 120mm turreted mortar, introduced in 2024, features a 35-round magazine, a firing rate of up to 20 rounds per minute, and a range of approximately 8 kilometers.
