With the creation of the Blackbeard Ground Launch (GL) weapon system, the US Army is preparing to give its High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) a hypersonic boost.
The intention is to integrate the Blackbeard missile into current HIMARS platforms, thereby combining the system’s mobility and well-established infrastructure with high-speed precision.
The Blackbeard GL, which is now being developed by Castelion Corporations, will employ self-guiding technology to hit targets at Mach 5 speeds. It is being developed for accurate engagement against fortified and mobile enemy targets, even in difficult situations.
