Finland’s Rauma Shipyard has launched the second Pohjanmaa-class multi-purpose corvette for the Finnish Navy as construction of the entire four-ship class progresses. The vessel entered the water less than a year after construction began, following the launch of the lead ship in 2025. Developed under the Squadron 2020 program, the corvettes are intended to replace older naval vessels and strengthen Finland’s ability to protect vital sea lanes and underwater infrastructure in the Baltic Sea. Deliveries are expected between 2027 and 2029.
