Northrop Grumman has integrated Green Hills Software’s INTEGRITY-178 tuMP real-time operating system into its LN-351 Embedded GPS/Inertial Navigation System–Modernization (EGI-M). This advanced system combines inertial navigation with an M-Code-enabled GPS receiver, ensuring aircraft maintain accurate positioning even in GPS-denied or electronically contested environments. Running on a quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor, the software features a partitioned architecture that isolates applications for enhanced cybersecurity and operational stability. This design enables faster updates, seamless integration of third-party applications, and improved mission flexibility. Initial deployment includes high-value platforms such as the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye and F-22 Raptor, marking a significant step toward resilient navigation systems in modern warfare.
