Thales has secured a major German defense contract to deliver 60 GO12 short-range surveillance radars to the Bundeswehr. The package covers training, logistical support, and additional equipment required for field operations. The GO12 radar is intended to strengthen frontline reconnaissance and artillery-targeting capabilities by offering rapid detection of enemy troops, drones, and vehicles. Its compact sensor suite fits into a backpack configuration and can be deployed by a single operator in approximately two minutes. The radar’s network-enabled architecture allows seamless data sharing across military command systems, while its all-weather performance enables continuous surveillance in fog, rain, darkness, and challenging battlefield environments.
