Gilat Satellite Networks has secured a $9-million contract from Israel’s Ministry of Defense to provide and integrate military satellite communications systems. The award, granted to the company’s defense division, includes next-generation defense modems and associated services as part of Gilat’s ground-based SATCOM portfolio. The systems are designed to support mission-critical operations and maintain reliability in harsh and unpredictable environments. The contract aims to enhance secure and flexible connectivity across various operational scenarios. The award follows continued Israeli investment in defense SATCOM capabilities. In July 2025, Gilat received another contract worth over $8 million for strategic communication systems. In late 2024, Elbit Systems secured approximately $130 million for advanced communication platforms, while Orbit Communication Systems won a $9.1-million tender to supply multipurpose satellite terminals for ground forces.
