RTX subsidiary BBN Technologies will lead the Advanced Spectrum Coexistence Demonstration, a Department of Defense-backed effort to enable commercial 5G networks and military radar systems to operate simultaneously without interference. The project aims to replace slow manual spectrum management with automated, AI-driven systems capable of rerouting 5G traffic within seconds when radar activity is detected. By leveraging predictive modeling and dynamic spectrum allocation, the program seeks to increase usable 5G capacity while significantly reducing interference.
