L3Harris and Italy’s ELT Group have partnered to launch Italy’s first multi-sensor intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance test center, the inaugural facility of its kind outside the United States. Managed jointly by the two companies, the center will bolster Italy’s—and its allies’—operational readiness by supporting the Joint Airborne Multi-Mission Multi-Sensor System (JAMMS) and the EA-37B Compass Call electronic warfare platforms, both based on the Gulfstream G550 airframe. This collaboration follows Italy’s award earlier this month of a $300-million contract to L3Harris (in partnership with BAE Systems) for two G550s outfitted with advanced electromagnetic warfare suites—marking the first foreign sale of the EA-37B configuration. The new test facility will validate and integrate multi-sensor payloads, enabling streamlined development, evaluation, and maintenance of ISR and EW capabilities on G550 platforms for Italy and NATO partners.
