Safran Electronics & Defense, renowned for its high-tech defence solutions, and Babcock International Group have announced a plan to expand their collaboration across multiple domains including mission systems, aircraft propulsion, space systems, and tactical and strategic communications.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), signed at the Paris Air Show, aims to combine the strengths of both companies to develop advanced, competitive, and innovative defence solutions serving the UK, France, and international markets.
This agreement builds on a well-established and trusted partnership between two key defence sector players whose capabilities span a broad spectrum, from submarines to satellites. Together, they will pursue significant land, naval, and air defence programmes while accelerating the development and integration of emerging technologies.
The MOU also supports the bilateral defence objectives set forth by the British and French governments under the Lancaster House Treaties, reflecting a joint commitment to enhancing European security and establishing a sovereign and resilient industrial base for future defence needs.
Collaboration will encompass joint research and development, sharing of best practices in engineering and manufacturing, and strengthening supply chain resilience to protect sovereignty and ensure secure supply. Both companies pledge to support governmental policies fostering economic growth and creating high-value employment opportunities in their respective countries.
This enhanced partnership demonstrates Safran and Babcock’s dedication to furthering Franco-British cooperation to benefit national security, economic growth, and leadership in European defence.
