In a significant boost to indigenous electronic warfare capabilities, the Indian Navy will receive 20 advanced GNSS jammers under a new contract awarded to Accord Software and Systems. Valued at approximately $46 million, the project emphasizes domestic manufacturing and technological self-sufficiency. The jammers are capable of denying adversaries access to satellite navigation signals while also conducting deceptive operations through spoofing techniques. Indian defense officials view the program as an important step toward improving naval survivability and operational effectiveness. The acquisition complements ongoing modernization initiatives, including advanced artillery programs, laser-based counter-drone systems, and next-generation missile guidance technologies.
