Saronic Technologies is investing $300 million to expand its Franklin, Louisiana shipyard, significantly increasing production capacity for autonomous surface vessels. Supported by Louisiana Economic Development and local partners, the expansion—already under construction—adds more than 300,000 square feet of new production space. Completion is expected by late 2026, with operations ramping up in early 2027. The upgraded facility will include a dedicated assembly line for larger platforms such as the 180-foot Marauder. Engineering and construction efforts involve JacobsWyper Architects, P2S, KPFF, JE Dunn, and Alberici. As part of its broader role in the unmanned maritime sector, Saronic is advancing programs tied to US defense needs. A major collaboration launched in October with NVIDIA focuses on integrating high-performance computing, AI, and advanced simulation into unmanned surface vessels to accelerate development. Saronic has also broadened its product lineup, unveiling the 24-foot Corsair, the 14-foot Cipher, and the 6-foot Spyglass. These systems are engineered to meet evolving requirements from the US Navy and partner forces seeking increased autonomy and operational flexibility at sea.
