The US Army has selected Core Systems’ ATMOS2 rugged tactical computing platform to support the service’s Command and Control-Now program, which aims to accelerate deployment of next-generation battlefield management technologies. Designed for harsh combat conditions, the ATMOS2 combines advanced processors, graphics capabilities, solid-state storage, and backup power into a compact and stackable system capable of supporting AI-driven operational tools and command networks. The system complies with the Army’s Modular Open Systems standards, enabling easier upgrades and long-term adaptability for future mission requirements. Compatible with operational software platforms such as the Android Tactical Assault Kit and Command Post Computing Environment, the device is designed to streamline battlefield computing infrastructure. Core Systems noted that the ATMOS2’s lightweight architecture will replace bulky legacy server equipment while improving mobility, maintainability, and deployment flexibility for tactical formations operating in distributed combat environments.
