The United Kingdom and Ukraine have taken their defense partnership to a new level with an agreement to jointly manufacture thousands of Octopus-100 interceptor drones. Announced under the “Build with Ukraine” program, the accord was signed in London by both defense ministries. Drone production will be based in the UK, making this the first Ukrainian combat drone to enter serial production within a NATO member state.
For Ukraine, the move accelerates access to vital drone capabilities and ensures continuous replenishment amid ongoing conflict. For the UK, it reinforces its role as a defense production hub for allied systems. The announcement followed a high-profile presentation of the Octopus-100 to the British Prime Minister, demonstrating the project’s symbolic and tactical weight.
The Octopus-100 serves as an interceptor drone built to engage enemy aerial systems and protect strategic sites. Although full specifications have not been released, its planned large-scale production reflects a focus on modular construction, streamlined supply chains, and NATO-aligned quality standards.
