AeroVironment and Korean Air have partnered to develop a tactical unmanned aerial system for South Korea, centered on the JUMP 20 drone. The fixed-wing VTOL UAS supports long-range operations without runways, carries up to 14 kg of payload, and has a gross takeoff weight of 96 kg. It reaches 50 knots, operates up to 17,000 feet, communicates up to 115 miles, and flies for over 13 hours. The collaboration strengthens South Korea’s UAS fleet, boosts local manufacturing, and reduces reliance on foreign systems. The JUMP 20 is already in use by NATO members including Denmark and Italy.
