L3Harris and Joby Aviation are working on a hybrid VTOL aircraft for defense missions. The aircraft will support crewed or autonomous operations and is based on Joby’s S4 platform. Combining L3Harris’s defense systems and Joby’s aircraft expertise, the project will begin testing this fall. It reflects the US military’s interest in versatile vertical lift technologies for future combat operations.
