India has unveiled its first homegrown MALE drone, the AI-enabled Kaal Bhairava, a breakthrough in unmanned combat technology. Built by Flying Wedge Defence, the system combines 30-hour flight time with 3,000 km operational reach, enabling both persistent surveillance and offensive operations. Featuring 80% local parts, the platform is sanction-proof and fully backed by an indigenous MRO network, ensuring reliable spare support and lower lifecycle costs. Beyond this flagship, the firm is also working on loitering munitions and a long-range unmanned bomber, signaling India’s serious push toward fielding a diverse autonomous air arsenal for strategic defense and regional deterrence.
