To strengthen maritime ISR capabilities, the Dutch Ministry of Defence has procured eight V-BAT VTOL drones for use by the Royal Netherlands Navy and Marine Corps.
Selected based on operational success in the Ukraine War, the V-BAT system—developed by Shield AI—offers jamming-resistant targeting and intelligence features without depending on GNSS.
The drone’s effectiveness was further validated during a month-long deployment aboard HNLMS Johan de Witt in NATO’s REPMUS 2024 drills, where it conducted sustained maritime ISR missions.
