The French Army has officially unveiled its DT46 artillery reconnaissance drone during the annual Bastille Day parade on the Champs-Élysées—an unprecedented public appearance. Integrated with the 68th African Artillery Regiment, part of the 7th Armored Brigade, the drone symbolizes a leap in operational capability under the Scorpion modernization program.

The DT46 enhances artillery support with advanced imagery intelligence (IMINT), enabling long-range target acquisition and counter-battery missions. Operated at the brigade level, the drone weighs 28 kg, supports missions up to 80 kilometers, and can remain airborne for over five hours in fixed-wing mode or three hours in VTOL mode.

Its modular design includes a 4.7-meter wingspan, 2-meter body length, and a 5 kg sensor payload. A low acoustic footprint ensures stealth, remaining undetectable beyond a 200-meter range—making it ideal for discreet battlefield surveillance and target engagement.
