Diehl Defence of Germany and the Spanish engineering company Sener have inked a memorandum of understanding to strengthen their partnership in a number of new defense technologies, such as hypersonic missiles, remote carriers, and unmanned ground vehicles.
The arrangement details plans to collaborate on the development of technologies related to the Future Combat Air System (FCAS), a European next-generation air combat initiative spearheaded by France, Germany, and Spain.
Diehl and Sener hope to make a contribution to subsystems like unmanned platforms and guided missiles, which are predicted to be essential components of FCAS architecture.
The firms have been working together for more than 20 years.
According to the defense general director at Sener, the partnership represents a step forward in our long history of partnership and common trust, opening new opportunities of collaboration that will strengthen the relationship between Diehl Defence and Sener.
Sener has been a crucial industrial collaborator in the IRIS-T missile program, creating aerodynamic pieces and control systems for both the air-to-air and ground-launched versions of the missile.
The IRIS-T system, which is directed by Diehl Defense, is a well-liked short-range air defense system used by the air forces of NATO and its allies.
