For the US Army, AeroVironment has secured a contract to supply its premier Switchblade loitering munition systems. The $288 million deal is a component of a five-year project that the firm was given last year and that included the purchase of the kamikaze drone in its 300 and 600 variations. When all options are exercised, the long-term framework will be worth $990 million. The first order was already placed to AeroVironment in August 2024. Last month, a second request was made public.
