Hyundai Rotem has become the first South Korean defense manufacturer to receive NATO’s Allied Quality Assurance Publications AQAP-2110 certification for its armored vehicle portfolio, including the K2 main battle tank, armored recovery vehicles, and combat engineering platforms. The certification verifies that the company’s manufacturing processes comply with NATO quality assurance requirements throughout product design, production, testing, and lifecycle management. Achieving AQAP-2110 strengthens Hyundai Rotem’s competitiveness in future NATO procurement programs while supporting South Korea’s expanding defense exports across Europe. The certification complements the growing international success of the K2 tank program, particularly in Poland, where large-scale procurement and localized manufacturing agreements have positioned the platform as one of Europe’s leading next-generation armored vehicles. Combined with increasing exports by other Korean defense companies, the achievement further demonstrates South Korea’s emergence as a major supplier of interoperable, cost-effective, and rapidly deliverable defense systems for allied nations.
