BAE Systems is expanding defense industrial cooperation with Poland through a partnership focused on maintaining, repairing, and potentially manufacturing components for the M88A2 Hercules Armored Recovery Vehicle. Working alongside Polish defense companies specializing in tracked vehicle production and sustainment, the initiative seeks to establish long-term local support capabilities for Poland’s growing fleet of heavy armored vehicles, including M1 Abrams main battle tanks. The M88A2 provides battlefield recovery of damaged armored vehicles weighing up to 70 tons, making it an essential logistics asset during high-intensity operations. Beyond maintenance support, the agreement enhances technology transfer, industrial cooperation, and sovereign sustainment capacity while reinforcing Poland’s broader defense manufacturing ecosystem and NATO readiness.
