Lockheed Martin and Rheinmetall are establishing a major missile manufacturing partnership that will significantly expand Europe’s precision-strike production capacity. The agreement includes localized assembly, integration, testing, and distribution of the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) for NATO allies operating HIMARS and M270 launch platforms. Beyond ballistic missile production, the new German facility will manufacture guided rockets, precision air-to-ground missiles, and advanced interceptor systems, creating a comprehensive missile production ecosystem. By relocating substantial manufacturing capability to Europe, the initiative enhances industrial resilience, strengthens supply security, shortens production timelines, and supports NATO’s growing demand for long-range precision fires amid evolving regional security challenges.
