The United Kingdom is expanding its naval use of autonomous platforms under Project Beehive. As part of the initiative, Kraken Technology Group has secured a £12.3-million contract to deliver 20 uncrewed surface vessels for the Royal Navy. The vessels will be used by the Coastal Forces Squadron and 47 Commando to test tactics, training methods, and operational concepts for integrating crewed and uncrewed systems. Each USV features a modular open architecture that allows upgrades as the navy develops its future hybrid fleet.
