Teledyne FLIR has clinched a five-year contract to supply Black Hornet 4 Personal Reconnaissance Systems to the US Army.
The nano-UAS are part of the Army’s Soldier Borne Sensor program, aimed at increasing situational awareness for ground troops.
The initial $25 million order covers the drones, controllers, spare parts, and training sessions.
The contract could reach $91 million if all options are exercised during its term.
Assembly of the systems will take place in Norway, with first deliveries beginning in September 2024.
These drones are designed to provide real-time intelligence while minimizing risk to soldiers.
