Saab has secured a $6.3M Swedish contract to design and test a large autonomous underwater drone. Equipped with seabed-mapping sensors and threat-detection tech, the LUUV will run on Saab’s Autonomous Ocean Core platform. Sea trials are scheduled for summer 2026, with the first phase focusing on reconnaissance rather than combat.
