“General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. (GA-ASI) has secured a $99.3 million deal to create next-generation drones for the United States that will carry out intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and attack missions.
The main feature of the GHOST program was a “hybrid-electric propulsion ducted fan,” implying that the drone being developed will have prolonged endurance and ultra-quiet operations in contested areas, even if the precise features and design specifics are still kept under wraps.
Work on GHOST is anticipated to be finished in Poway, California, by August 2028.
