Denmark has procured eight unmanned ground vehicles from Milrem Robotics (four THeMIS) and XRC Robotics (four MFP-1) to evaluate their utility in future military operations. Assigned to the Danish Army’s Combat Service Branch in Slagelse, the vehicles will undergo trials to assess performance, reliability, and tactical applications, drawing lessons from the war in Ukraine. THeMIS platforms, weighing 1,600 kg and capable of carrying 1,200 kg payloads, feature diesel-electric hybrid drives and up to 200 km range, while MFP-1s are lightweight 25-kg units capable of 60 km/h speeds over 30 km operational range. Testing will explore logistics, reconnaissance, casualty evacuation, and combat support, including integration with remote weapon systems.
