The US Army has placed a $186-million order with AeroVironment for Switchblade 600 and 300 drones, marking the introduction of the upgraded 600 line with an armor-penetrating warhead. The larger 600 variant weighs 15 kilograms and exceeds 40 minutes of flight time, while the compact 300 weighs just 3 kilograms and provides more than 20 minutes of endurance. Both systems include EO/IR sensors and software packages, expanding tactical precision-strike capabilities.
