The US Army has received initial batches of AeroVironment’s P550 drone, unveiled in 2024. Lightweight yet powerful, it offers autonomy, AI-enabled flight, and VTOL. Capable of sustained five-hour missions and hot-swappable payloads, it is tailored for reconnaissance and strike roles under the Long-Range Reconnaissance program.
