The US Army has activated the 7th Infantry Division Multi-Domain Command-Pacific (7th ID MDC-PAC), creating a theater-level formation dedicated to operations across the Indo-Pacific region. Formed through the integration of the 7th Infantry Division and the 1st Multi-Domain Task Force, the new command combines conventional combat forces with cyber, intelligence, electronic warfare, space, and autonomous capabilities under a unified headquarters. The redesignation ceremony took place at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, where soldiers formally transferred unit colors to mark the transition. Comprising around 12,000 personnel, the formation is expected to play a key role in regional operations, joint exercises, and multinational military engagements throughout the Indo-Pacific.
