Agile Defense Wins $93.3 Million in US Marine Corps Network Modernization ContractsVirginia-based Agile Defense has secured contracts valued at approximately $93.3 million to support and modernize network operations for the US Marine Corps.The agreements include an $88 million award under which Agile Defense, working with Stafford-based small business CommIT Enterprises, will provide broad cyberspace services. The work will focus on improving and maintaining non-classified and secret Internet Protocol networks used to support Marine Corps operations.These networks form an important part of the digital infrastructure required for command, communications, planning, and deployment activities. Maintaining secure and reliable network services is increasingly important as military organizations depend on connected systems for day-to-day operations.A separate $5.3 million sole-source recompete contract will support Marine Corps Installation West, or MCIWEST. The organization oversees seven Marine bases located along the US West Coast.Agile Defense has supported MCIWEST information technology requirements since 2016, giving the company extensive experience with the organization’s network and technology environment. Its responsibilities expanded in 2024 to include cloud-based solutions and specialized artificial intelligence systems.Under the latest work, Agile Defense will also develop geospatial information systems and implement Microsoft SharePoint as a web-based collaboration platform. These technologies are intended to support strategic planning and improve the way information is organized and shared across the Marine Corps infrastructure.The contracts demonstrate the growing importance of digital modernization within military organizations. As command structures become increasingly dependent on secure networks, cloud services, artificial intelligence, collaboration tools, and geospatial data, maintaining reliable information infrastructure has become an essential part of military readiness.The latest awards will therefore support both the Marine Corps’ immediate network requirements and its longer-term effort to modernize digital services across its installations.
