Germany has agreed to purchase Spike anti-tank guided missiles from Israel under a €2 billion ($2.3 billion) deal facilitated by the NATO Support and Procurement Agency.
The agreement was concluded with EuroSpike, a European joint venture headquartered in Bavaria, led by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems alongside Rheinmetall Electronics and Diehl Defence, which together hold an 80% ownership share.
The contract includes not only missile procurement but also logistics, maintenance, training, technical support, and system integration.
Used by over 40 armed forces worldwide, the Spike series is highly adaptable—capable of launch from man-portable systems, vehicles, helicopters, and naval platforms—with ranges between 50 and 50,000 meters based on configuration.
Because a significant portion of manufacturing occurs within Europe, Rafael benefits from fewer restrictions on arms exports.
