The US Army has awarded Elbit Systems a $212-million delivery order to continue producing Enhanced Night Vision Goggle-Binocular systems through 2028, strengthening the service’s battlefield visualization and low-light combat capabilities. The ENVG-B combines thermal imaging, image intensification, augmented reality overlays, and passive targeting technologies into a wearable binocular system designed to improve soldier awareness and target detection in difficult environments. Unlike earlier procurement phases involving multiple suppliers, Elbit Systems of America was selected as the sole prime contractor for this order. The advanced system enables troops to operate effectively during nighttime, adverse weather, and complex terrain conditions while integrating digital battlefield data into a single display. The award follows several other US military investments in advanced soldier visualization technologies, including helmet-mounted mission command systems and next-generation night observation devices.
