The US Army has awarded Elbit Systems America a $49.9 million contract to supply advanced heads-up display (HUD) systems for its UH-60 Black Hawk and CH-47 Chinook helicopter fleets. The Air Warrior HUD projects critical flight and mission information directly into the pilot’s line of sight, allowing aircrews to maintain focus outside the cockpit while accessing essential data. This improves situational awareness and enhances operational safety during complex missions. The system forms part of the Army’s Air Soldier System program, which aims to modernize aircrew equipment with lighter and more capable technologies. The initiative replaces older Air Warrior gear introduced in 2004. The contract runs through 2030 and includes post-production support, ensuring sustained performance and integration across the fleet.
