Rolls-Royce Submarines has commenced a major expansion of its Raynesway production facility to significantly increase nuclear reactor manufacturing capacity for future British and Australian submarine programs. The project will add more than 100,000 square meters of advanced manufacturing and engineering infrastructure while supporting reactor production for Astute, Dreadnought, and SSN-AUKUS submarines. The expansion reflects growing demand generated under the AUKUS security partnership and is expected to create more than a thousand highly skilled engineering and manufacturing jobs. The upgraded facility will strengthen long-term nuclear propulsion capability while supporting allied submarine modernization programs.
