Taiwan is reassessing a fixed-site counter-unmanned aerial system procurement after repeated testing revealed that the proposed solution did not satisfy operational performance requirements established by the military. The project involved the delivery of multiple ground-based counter-drone systems intended to detect low-observable unmanned aircraft at extended ranges while employing electronic warfare techniques to disrupt hostile drones before they reached protected facilities. During prototype verification and subsequent acceptance evaluations, the systems reportedly failed to demonstrate the required detection and engagement performance, prompting authorities to consider contract termination.
