Slovakia’s Ministry of Defence has introduced a new Personal Clothing System – Combat Uniform, designated M25 or “Vzor 25,” alongside a broader modernization of small arms and soldier equipment. The new uniform replaces the digital camouflage pattern adopted in 2007 and is engineered to enhance durability, survivability, and operational comfort during extended field deployments. Developed using operational feedback and lessons learned from recent conflicts, the M25 prioritizes long-term wearability and mission adaptability. A standard kit, costing approximately 300 euros, includes trousers, blouse, and cap, with additional mission-specific variants such as flame-resistant configurations. While fabric sourcing remains international, tailoring and finishing will be conducted domestically, supporting Slovak industry. Complementary upgrades include improved body armor, helmets, and night-vision systems. Concurrently, Slovakia confirmed procurement of domestically manufactured weapons from Grand Power, including the GP M4M 5.56×45 mm assault rifle as the new standard infantry weapon, GP R10 7.62×51 mm sniper rifles, Stribog SP9 A3 submachine guns, and GP Q1 pistols. The rearmament initiative is valued at approximately 82 million euros, with deliveries scheduled through 2028.
