Israeli defense company Smartshooter has extended its SMASH fire control system from rifles to heavy machine guns, vehicles, and remote platforms. At Project VANAHEIM, the firm mounted SMASH 3000 optics on a heavy machine gun and installed the SMASH HOPPER remote weapon station on a reconnaissance vehicle. This configuration enabled engagements against drones up to 400 meters away. Integrated with the Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK), it also allowed seamless transmission of targeting data to shooters, enhancing unit coordination. CEO Michal Mor said the upgrades reflect the firm’s drive to provide adaptable solutions against evolving threats. The new configurations are debuting at the 2025 DSEI expo in London.
