The Romanian Armed Forces are set to introduce the Merops counter-UAS system following its strong performance against Shahed drones. Already combat-proven in Ukraine, Merops has attracted NATO attention for its affordability and effectiveness. The system integrates mobile launchers, command and control, and fast interceptor drones capable of autonomous detection and engagement. With a small crew requirement and rapid training timeline, Merops offers Romania and allied nations a scalable solution to the growing threat of low-cost attack drones.
