Kuwait has received its first shipment of Bayraktar TB2 tactical drones from Turkey, celebrating the delivery at a launch ceremony at Ali Al Salem Air Base. The $367-million procurement aims to bolster Kuwait’s autonomous aerial capabilities for surveillance, strike, search and rescue, and maritime patrol. The event included technical briefings, a live demo, and interaction between government officials and Kuwaiti Bayraktar teams. With this acquisition, Kuwait becomes the 29th country to operate the TB2, which has seen combat use in Ukraine, Syria, Libya, and Azerbaijan. The Bayraktar TB2 features a 7-meter fuselage, 12-meter wingspan, and 27-hour flight endurance. It is equipped with EO/IR cameras, GPS, and a laser designator, making it highly effective for long-range ISR and precision strike missions.
