A team of Chinese scientists and engineers has announced the creation of a machine gun with an incredible firing rate of 450,000 rounds per minute, per barrel. The developers claim that the weapon, which was manufactured in Taiyuan, an industrial center in central China, can be equipped with up to five barrels, giving it the potential to fire at a maximum rate of two million rounds per minute. The machine gun’s high rate is said to make it capable of targeting and intercepting hypersonic targets that move at speeds greater than Mach 7.
