
In advance of President Donald Trump’s trip this week, the State Department has given permission for the United Arab Emirates to purchase $1.4 billion worth of military aircraft and equipment, according to US authorities on Monday. According to a statement from the State Department Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, the suggested sale to the Gulf country includes six CH-47F Chinook helicopters and other gear valued at $1.32 billion that would “support the foreign policy and national security of the United States.”
