Raytheon, a US company, has signed a strategic collaboration agreement with the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) Tawazun Council, its defense and security acquisitions authority, to manufacture the Coyote counter-drone system locally.
Raytheon Emirates’ technology transfer and cooperation with Emirati defense companies to produce the counter-drone system components in the assembly and testing facility at Tawazun Industrial Park are included in the historic agreement.
This will allow the Gulf nation to expedite the deployment of the ammunition while simultaneously bolstering its local defense industry, defense capabilities, and connection with the US as a key defense ally in the Middle East.
