Portugal became the launch customer of the new variant of this sophisticated trainer and light assault aircraft when the Portuguese Ministry of National Defense signed a contract with Embraer to purchase 12 A-29N Super Tucanos for the Portuguese Air Force. This acquisition demonstrates Portugal’s dedication to upgrading its air force with a flexible, tried-and-tested aircraft that is ideally suited for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions, close air support (CAS), light attack, and advanced pilot training.
